5. Kill your TV.
As I mentioned before, having a TV in your living room often means that your TV becomes the center of the room, and you wind up with a space that’s optimized for watching television, and not much else. Banishing your TV to another room of the house (or getting rid of it entirely) frees up your space for all kinds of creative arrangements. Once you’re no longer worried about everyone being able to see the screen, you may find that you living room contains all sorts of possibilities you never imagined.

From institutionalized racism to blocked social and economic opportunities, African Americans are often excluded of African Americans.

Apologies cannot compensate an entire race of people for all of the social and economic ills they face as a result of their enslavement. They cannot address the residual effects of slavery. They cannot provide job opportunities to a race of people who are experiencing high unemployment rates. Apologies without action from the very systems they helped to create. Had it not been for slave labor, many corporations would not be where they are today and for these companies to acknowledge their involvement in slavery and then simply say ‘Oh, I’m sorry”, is to downplay their role in perpetuating the degradation are nothing more than a futile attempt…

We’re Saddened Over The Passing of Legendary Poet & Author, Dr. Maya Angelou. She Passed Today at Age 86

She was a Cultural Ambassador.. a Prolific Poet.. a Griot.. a Profound Phenomenal Woman.. a Literary Historian. I really thought that Dr. Maya Angelou would live forever 🙂 May she rest in eternal peace.
