I read an article recently that stated “If you want to kick start your creativity: do some yoga.” I’ve always enjoyed doing Pilates and Yoga as my preference for a relaxation exercise, and today I found an opportunity that got me back to my relaxation roots.

On Sunday, December 1, 2013 in Dallas, Tex. — a beautiful 68-70 degrees — I participated in @KlydeWarrenPark‘s FREE Yoga Class Session. These sessions, which will continue until, I don’t know when (weather pending) ..was relaxing and stellar. Once we got started, I was reminded that I was just a little rusty, because I haven’t participated in Yoga or Pilates in a while, but I was still limber enough to keep up with the yoga-esqe poses and movements. My only disappointment of the session — was that we didn’t do my favorite Tree Pose! πŸ˜€ My Yoga instructor for the morning was Toyha from Exhale Spa — Toyha was great, professional, friendly, and just an all around joy to spend the morning with; amid a plot full of other strangers.

It would have been nice to go with some girlfriends or guyfriends, but I’m hopeful that I’ll meet some folks here soon in Dallas. Now don’t mistake me, I am comfortable in my own skin, enough to venture out by myself, in my new city.

Afterward, I grabbed my complimentary Dallas Morning Newspaper, — explore walked to Starbucks-and-Back (Pumpkin Spice Latte) — sat on a park bench — read my newspaper — and immersed myself into the character and atmosphere of Klyde Warren Park; in now, what was 75 degrees on a sunny Dallas December morning.

My Walk @ Starbucks ...

My Walk to Starbucks …

The food trucks began to populate their spaces, more families began to fill the park, music from a street performer now permeated the environment with his exotic drums — it… was… relaxing…, to just sit and take it all in. I walked around to explore the park a little more, wondering about all of the other tangible and/or intangible amenities it offered. …I’ll definitely be back.

I enjoyed the sunny, calm, yet mildly-windy day outside.

I enjoyed that moment… …and I look forward to more adventures.
